The City of Clearwater has existing reclaimed water service to many neighborhoods and appears dedicated to expanding its Reclaimed Water services. Skycrest is part of the City's Reclaimed Water Master Plan, however, not all areas of our neighborhood will be getting reclaimed water at the same time. In February 2008, the City held an Information Session and provided the latest information on the upcoming project.
Residents living on Saturn Ave or any street East to Belcher Ave will be the first to receive Reclaimed Water services. Construction for this portion of the neighborhood is scheduled to begin in December 2008 and take approximately two years to complete.
The remaining streets of Skycrest from Saturn Ave West to Highland Ave were shown to be part of the City's future proposed expansion for Reclaimed Water, however, no dates for future construction or service are being provided. Future expansions are based on several factors, including:
- Lawn Irrigation Usage / Potential Offset
- Proximity to Existing Reclaim Sources
- Infrastructure Costs
Based on these factors, we think the remaining areas of Skycrest will be a good candidate for Reclaimed Water expansion. We will keep our neighbors posted of new developments as they occur. If you have questions or concerns, you can access the City's Frequently Asked Questions about Reclaimed Water.
